Creationists and Materialists Can Unite; There Were No Gigantic Trees in Earth’s Past! A 500 Yard Tree Trunk Near Yosemite Park in California? I Regret to Inform You That Yes, There Were Such Trees.

There have been a number of articles on our website that have inspired some people to go out and search or research on their own.

There was an article re; Tunnels and Giants and ancient civilizations in caves under the desert near the Arizona/California border featured in several newspaper articles around 1947. https://web.archive.org/.../2019021.../s8int.com/page16.html
Those and a number of other articles, such as one on the alleged giants found petrified in the Arizona Desert inspired some people to go and investigate on their own. Some reported back -with photos.
F. Peters was one apparently inspired by an article on gigantic trees in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Inspired by the story and photographs from Bennett (who has withdrawn his permission for the use of the photos) and went out in search of such giants near Yosemite.

“Since I believe that the giant trees were remnants of Noah's universal flood, I was inspired to search for fossilized trees in my area. This year I came across what I'm convinced was once a lush forest of giant trees along Highway 140 near Yosemite.
Not only are there many huge trees, but several of them were blasted with dynamite to make way for the highway, which opened in 1926.
The century-old, exposed wood is far more colorful than the surrounding wood which has been exposed to about 4,400 years of weathering since the flood.
Attached are several photos of the trees. The second photo shows a blasted tree that extends about 500 yards along the highway (I stepped off the distance and also measured it at nearly 0.3 miles on my odometer).
In other words, the tree is at least 500 yards in diameter. I believe the top of the tree was sheared off by the violent flood waters.
There's a lot of easy to identify petrified wood fragments at the base of the tree and on the other side of the highway along the Merced River bank.
The first photo appears to be giant root systems. The third photo shows what I believe might be a large seed (about 8 inches in length).
I'm going to try to find more of them to confirm my theory. I assure you that none of these photos are doctored.

S8intcom: I am impressed with the photographs and explanations. However, as I explained to Mr. Peters, based on my own recent experience, no one wants to accept that there were trees this big in the earth’s past-.not creationists and bible believers and certainly not materialists.
How do trees that large fit into anyone’s paradigm-or system of belief?
My experience was that I located giant leaves and giant branches and flowers on Madagascar using Google Earth. To my mind the pictures which I took myself, were clear and unambiguous.
However, the scientific creationist types had no use for them. These individuals at various websites have science degrees and although they believe the Genesis account is true and that there was a global flood, they still have appearances to maintain. They want the respect of the scientific community.
I was told by them that the limits for human giants was about 12 feet tall, echoing the opinion of mainstream science. Setting aside the fact that human giant skeletons larger than that have been reported, what about the fossils remains that we all agree on?
The larger sauropods and even some of the larger theropod dinosaurs could not have lifted their heads or got blood to their hearts based on the current strength of gravity and the amount of oxygen in the air currently .
But science has shown that in the past there was a significantly higher oxygen content based on measurements of air in sap bubbles.
Argentavis Magnificens whose bones are currently housed at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles had up to a 26-foot wingspan and probably weighed more than 200 pounds.
Scientists do all they can to minimize its potential weight because a bird of prey that can't get off the ground would raise unanswerable questions. It was a raptor like an eagle.
There is no way that bird could fly today. Meganeura, a giant dragonfly had a wingspan of up to 2.5 feet and probably weighed several hundred times what the largest, ponderously flying dragonfly weighs today.
The point is, the world of yesterday was way different from the world of today than we can imagine.
My own mind is blown by evidence like Mr. Peters has forwarded and by what I saw on the Island of Madagascar. It means if we are right, “there were giants in those days” means much more than we thought it did.
Mr. Peters narrates his photos attached to this post below. In addition, we will take a look at some petrified wood samples and a new look at the Giant Causeway “basalt columns.”
Th question of whether an artifact is nature or nurture becomes difficult when you recognize that everything, including the human body is made from the same materials and that objects once alive or artifacts once abandoned all go back to their roots-dust to dust.

• The Merced River Valley 500-Yard-Wide Petrified Wood Formation
• Map 1: The exposed part of the 500 Yard Formation is a long, horizontal sliver located along the Merced River and Highway 140 about halfway between Incline toward the left, and Briceburg toward the right. The visible petrified wood wall is typically in the shade, as in this Google Earth satellite image.
Above and directly behind the formation is a ridge that climbs up the left mountainside. Sweetwater Creek runs down the valley on the top left and winds left to right behind the ridge, finally flowing into the Merced River.
• Map 2: The 500 Yard Formation might be a small part of a much larger fallen tree. Ferguson Ridge might be the top edge of the trunk of this tree. It might also be part of a smaller, yet still huge tree directly behind it.
In the photos that follow, the wood grain of the 500 Yard Formation has a clear vertical orientation. If it were a branch or root lying along the road, the wood grain would run horizontally. Satellite image from Google Earth.
• Map 3: Ferguson Ridge extends for about 8,700 meters, or about 5.4 miles. If this is a fallen tree, it would have been about the height of Mount Everest when it was standing.
The 500-yard formation might be a branch, or less likely, a root of this tree. A second, smaller tree with a ridge lies to the right of the Ferguson Ridge tree and directly behind the 500 Yard Formation. Satellite image from Google Earth.
• Photo 1: Panoramic photo of the 500-Yard Formation. I measured the width by walking off the distance (500 three-foot paces). I also drove the length of the formation, and the distance was well over 0.2 miles (352 yards) but short of 0.3 miles (528 yards).
I plan to use a measuring wheel to get a more accurate width. The height ranges from about 10-15 feet on the far ends to about 30-50 feet along the length. The formation does not actually bow outward as the photo shows, but runs in a somewhat straight line along the highway and river.
• Photo 2: Formation facing toward Briceburg. Petrified wood forming the wall and on the ground is colorful and easy to identify because the formation was dynamited during the construction of Highway 140, which opened in 1926. Many non-dynamited formations of similar and smaller size have weathered for about 4,400 years (from Noah’s flood to the present) and are more grayish in appearance.
• Photo 3: 500 Yard Formation facing toward Incline. The peak of the mountain/tree in the background shows a triangular wall of exposed petrified wood. The 500 Yard Formation (foreground) might be part of the mountain/tree in the background.
• Photo 4: The vertical yellowish streaks are possibly fossilized sap. I took a small sample and exposed it to a match flame. It did not burn or melt, probably because the mineral content is too high.
Final Thoughts and Observations:
The 500 Yard Formation is far larger than the largest living trees today. It would take four of the tallest living trees laid end-to-end to equal the length of this formation. The 500 Yard Formation equals the length of 5 football fields, excluding the end zones.
The 500 Yard Formation was probably alive for most or all of pre-flood history (1,656 years according to Biblical genealogies in Genesis 5). It was therefore likely alive during the lifetimes of Adam and Eve and their children, down to Noah, Shem, Ham, Japheth, and their wives.
The 500 Yard Formation equals the length of about 3 Noah’s Arks laid end-to-end. The wood used to construct Noah’s Ark may have been sourced from a single, large, pre-flood tree.
Only a violent, universal flood could knock down and fossilize the huge trees in the Merced River Valley and elsewhere in the world. Uniformitarian geology cannot account for the demise and fossilization of these trees.
The Merced River Valley trees are a stunning testimony to God’s past judgment on the world and portend to future judgment (II Peter 3:3-7) and (thankfully) redemption (II Peter 3:8-9). “

Photo 6: Giants Causeway columns from the “bark side”. “"The Giant's is an area of approximately 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic fissure eruption. Is it though?
On the left are actual “basalt columns” at the site at Bushmills, United Kingdom with tourists for sale, and on the right is a mocked-up photo of a regular-sized tree of today with tourists to add to the comparison. Do the “basalt columns” look like tree bark to you from this angle?
Photo 7: No matter where or in what tissue, all plant cells are one of three distinct types: parenchyma, collenchyma, or sclerenchyma. If you look around the Giant's Causeway, you will see large structures in the air or on the ground that will remind you of those structures; fossilized.
