M.F. McCord of Rush Springs has found a peculiar earth formation resembling the ruins of volcanic peaks a few miles from this place.

He has given the following description of this discovery: Two volcanic points in close proximity to each other rear their heads fully 100 feet above the surrounding plain. The peaks, the sides of which are at angle of about 45 degrees are covered with volcanic rocks hard as the nether millstone attributable to the volcanic eruption decades or centuries ago.

But the unexplainable phenomena are two rocks on one of these summits marked with petrified footprints of men, birds and animals. These foot prints are as perfect in form as if the foot pressed the soft clay but yesterday and were immediately converted into admantine hardness.

There a 12 perfect footprints. Two of the largest are 12 ½ inches in length and 5/1/2 inches across the toes. Did the gigantic owner of these two great feet step on the rock in its plastic state and then untold centuries afterward, did this plastic stone form into flinty hardness as it is today?

Judging from appearance, we answer in the affirmative. The clay seems pressed naturally around the foot and between the toes. The curvature of the toes and the whole foot seems more natural than artist can paint. An elephant track perfect in form is imprinted on the smaller rock.

The most mysterious footprint is on the larger rock. By actual measurement it is 16 inches across, circular in form. The outer edge of the foot seemed to be fanlike, for the outer edge in the footprint was notched or creased from rim to half the depth of the imprint.

At the bottom of the print are projections or antennae as are often seen in the feet of amphibious animals.
