We stand today at an unprecedented turning point in human history. In recent years two versions of ancient history have formed. One, we shall call ‘alternative’ history, the other we shall refer to as ‘official’ history.
The former ponders over a variety of anomalies and tries to make sense out of the corpus of evidence, i.e., the pyramids and timelines, why they were built, by whom and when. The latter conducts digs, catalogues pottery shards, and tries to defend its proposal there are no enigmas, and virtually everything is explained

Whether science is correct or not about individual cases, it has a tendency to declare some nature when it looks more like nurture man-made. After all, science believes that the universe itself is a natural self-created artifact.
The Stone Terraces or Staircases at Ollantaytambo, Peru
"Walk above the town to a formidable stone structure where massive terraces climb to the peak. It was the valley's main defense against the Antis tribes from the neighboring rainforests. Construction began during the reign of Pachacutec but was never completed.
The rose-color granite used was not mined in thi part of the Valley. The elaborate walled complex contained a temple to the sun, used for astronomical observation, as well as the Baños de la Ñusta (ceremonial princess baths), leading archaeologists to believe that Ollantaytambo existed for more than defensive purposes."

I grew up reading and really being into science fiction. Robert Heinlein, Arthur C. Clark, Orson Scott Card and Harlan Ellison were some of my favorite authors of the time.
Graham Hancock writes a lot of books and has a lot of theories about a lot of things. Here at s8int.com, we don't know what to make of his theories (we've not read any of his books) and we certainly aren't endorsing any of them, though some of his articles and/or speculations appear on these pages. What we do like is that he provides alternatives to the obviously wrongheaded orthodoxy. Mainstream science however, knows just what it thinks of Mr. Hancock. They don't like him or his theories very much as they generally are at odds with current mainstream theories on such things as; the evolution of man, the age of the Sphinx, the purpose of pyramids in Egypt, the dawn of civilization etc. Mainstream science treats Mr.Hancock and his theories and books as "crackpot".
